First United White Rock - Turkey 2012

I am very excited to invite you to join me on a great adventure of travel.  Travel is never just travel but an opportunity to widen our perspectives and appreciations of the world, and to deepen our sense of self - who we are and who we are called to be.  For this reason, I think of travel as "pilgrimage".  And, of course, Turkey is special in this regard because it is the "geography of our faith"!  This trip is the beginning of my three month sabbatical ... and what a way to begin but with friends in one of the most delightful places in the world!

 The trip will immerse us in a Muslim world, and interfaith and intercultural history, and in the deep roots of our Judeo Christian tradition.  We will explore most of the “classic” visits within western Turkey, along with an emphasis on Paul’s seven churches (near Ephesus). 

• This will be a bus and “walking” tour  (with a short flight from Istanbul to Cappodicia). 
• We’ll stay in smaller very comfortable 4 star hotels with local Turkey character (no Sheraton’s!)
• The tour will be limited to 15 people, so a smaller midi bus will accommodate us. 

Other financial details:

1. The land portion of the trip will be $2679.00
2. The airfare from Vancouver will be about $1500 (including taxes)  (estimate at this date)
3. Full payment is required for the land portion, three months ahead, and a down payment in November.
